They host FAQs, walkthroughs and cheat codes for video games with a large database for many platforms, including PCs; Nintendo's DS, GameBoy Advance, GameCube and Wii; Sony Playstation's PS2, PS3, and PSP; or Microsoft's Xbox and Xbox 360. [[]GameFAQs.com]] also allows users to share saved games an custom characters, stats and has links to companion site such as GameSpot.com and GameRankings.com.

Art

ArtFaceOff.com is trying to establish a global community or artists and art lovers via the "vigor of healthy competition." On their website, artists can post their work which is then voted on and seeded by the community. The artworks are then placed in head-to-head tournament brackets, with voters picking the winner of each "Face Off." Winners move to the next tier of the bracket. The website votes on a number of categories: photography, 3D art, paintings, digital art, drawings, printmaking and mixed media.

Retail

Cafepress.com is an online marketplace, allowing sellers to operate a shop with customizable apparel, teddy bears, greeting cards, prints, pillows, mouse pads, mugs, stickers and more. The also offer users to create custom orders. Providing the online storefront along with hosting, order management, payment and shipping, Cafepress handles all the grunt work, allowing store owners to simply upload desired graphics and set their prices.

An expert advice site, JustAnswer.com uses an automated bidding system reminiscent of eBay to connect users with questions to experts. Whether your needs are mundane or arcane, JustAnswer gets you the information you need when you need it.

Web Application

Joomla is an Open Source Content Management System, used for powering everything from simple personal websites to complex corporate applications. Their main website, Joomla.org contains not-only this free software, but a myriad of templates, help and support files for Joomla. In addition, the website provides news and other announcements.

Trivia and Information

WikiQuickFacts.com is a great way to study or just to bone-up on some random trivia. The website is a wiki of interesting information in an online flashcard format. Users can search for flashcards of information, but the true fun is just going to the site and clicking on the "random page" function in the navigation bar and learn new things. Users can also download their "Osmosis" software which will deliver random flashcards to your computer and view them off-line.

Television News

TV.com is more than a just a place to find out what's showing on your television. The site is a great resource for facts and behind-the-scenes information on the TV industry. TV.com lists ratings and news as well as having downloadable pictures and videos. Part of the Cnet family, users can signup for membership with TV.com, GameSpot or MP3.com and that membership applies for all three websites.

The concept of a fully editable website was invented over a decade ago, and is now popularly referred to as a "Wiki" -- more on that story here. AboutUs.org uses the same technology to provide a collaborative space where people can share their knowledge, add their opinions and traverse the internal links of the site to discover sites related to their personal or professional interests.

You can visit a web site from any AboutUs article page simply by clicking on the site thumbnail on the right-hand side of the page.

There are many Web sites which are not yet in the system, please add your website in the Search text box to the left, in the format MyWebsite.com - you should be taken to your page with in 1-6 seconds. Please let us know if that doesn't happen.

If you know of a site, please feel free to see what information we've already gathered and if you can add something constructive, edit away! You don't need an Account to use and make text changes to this wiki, although to upload pictures, images and other files, you will need one.
