Open Source

Even though there is a Wikipedia:Open Source article on open source, it's good to have a version of ours with our own style.

Open Source means the source code of the software is available for free. The type of license is called copyleft. This type of license is a shared one. This initiative is founded by Bruce Perens and Eric Raymond. One has the right to use the software, read and modify the code, pass it on to others for free.

How does this work

Most of the companies adopt Open Source projects because of its community support. The business model built upon the Open Source is that the product is charged for service and support. This is done by a group of dedicated people who developed the project, trained with it could fix bugs better than others.
