- Originally from New York City's Lower East Side, Adario Strange's background is eclectic. Before becoming a film director, Strange rose in the ranks of the music business. First cutting his teeth in as a marketing director at Universal Music, he then went on to create several independent music ventures in New York. Most music industry watchers know Strange from his work as the Editor In Chief of The Source magazine, America's number one youth magazine. During his seven years as a feature writer and then Editor-In-Chief at the publication, Strange pioneered the cultural shift of hip-hop and rap music into the mainstream of the world's popular culture.
