Welcome
Hello Fridemar! Welcome to AboutUs.
I'm excited that you've chosen to explore the wonderful world of wiki here at AboutUs.org - the place where everyone may collaborate to build the commons and community through their constructive edits and participation. Welcome! Check out the brand new tour to learn about wiki, what AboutUs.org is all about and how to use the site to the fullest. From there, go ahead and and see what you can improve upon first on the wiki (pick a page and hit the edit button and go to town), whether it be a wiki DomainPage (just type the site into the search bar like this: AboutUs.org and hit find) or your very own PersonalPage. I look forward to seeing your first edit here on AboutUs.org!
Be sure to let us/me know if you have any questions along the way (you can leave a message on my talk page via the talk link by my name, join the AboutUs WebIRC here, or check the "currently online" section on the homepage for someone knowledgeable and send them a message on their talk page). I wonder if you might want to add a little information about yourself on your personal page? (Check out PersonalPages for guidance or click my name below as an example.) Please don't hesitate to let me know if you'd like some assistance in accomplishing your goals on AboutUs and if you fancy some help or new ideas I've found the help page to be a nice resource. Welcome to the AboutUs community - it's great to have you!
Have a most wonderful day!

Hi Kristina, what a warm and nice welcome. Thank you. Unfortunately I noticed this page not earlier than today. Hey, this community is exactly realizing my dreams, I dreamt in the MeatballWiki. It is the dream of a Social Common Wealth. You call it simply the Commons. I coined it independently Meatball:SocialCommonWealth and registered all the top level domains *.com, *.net, *.biz, *.org, *.info to develop them with full engagement: in my dedicated blog, in wikis, forums, mailing-lists.
To make it attractive as a community effort, I have been suggesting to my peers to:
- contribute digital goods and services, based on ideas, concepts, art, music, software.
- buy related domains, where the peers could amplify each other's efforts
- selling at last the domains to potent likeminded Internet players
This way, there is a good chance, that the community members can openly develop their ideas, based on the Creative Commons license (Author credit + Share Alike) and get also their "food on the table", which is not a trivial task, since most of the communities appear to stick to the Meatball:StayPoor meme and don't have yet detected the secret of the Meatball:HoofSmith paradigm. This metapher appears to me the base for a Meatball:OpenBusiness or more concrete: the base for a Meatball:OpenBusinessWiki.
Fortunately AboutUs allows the workers to realize some revenue for the thousands of hours, they put into their contributions. ( I am proud, that for some hundred hours of wiki publishing and blogging, I now earned nearly 2 US$ dollars by Adsense. :-) I hope, that as a community effort, each author at least gets enough revenue, that s/he is not forced to work for third parties, who don't care for the wellbeing of the planet.
This post is blogged for the mutual benefit: [[1]]
Do you allow Meatball:WikiBlogging?
Heaven for you and all the beings around us

Oh hello
Sorry, I was just looking through the people currently online (you can see this on the homepage) and I noticed that you left me a message here... it will only alert me when a message is left on my talk page, but I'm glad I came across this... I'm about to read through it and send a reply your way.
- Okay, I actually don't have an answer to your questions as of yet, but it sounds interesting. I will bring it up to a few fellow AboutUs staffers and see what they know on the subject. Thanks for your message, if you want to reply you can click the talk link below by my name to get to my message page. Have a good one!

- I talked with Brandon_CS_Sanders via the AboutUs WebIRC and he answers with a resounding "of course, as long as they are licensed under By-SA" to your question of whether AboutUs permits Meatball wiki blogging. I wish I knew more on the this topic, but I am excited at the synergy of the ideas that we all seem to share about what wiki can be and do. Good'ay.
- KristinaWeis | **talk** 14:34, 25 June 2007 (PDT)
- p.s. At WikiAnatomy we have some tours set up for newbies, but also an advanced track (tour 4 mostly) that highlights AboutUs values and the like. You might find it interesting.

Wow! I'm in awe of your mediator work! ... One Tweak
Awesome is all I can say. It's fun to watch you work on UniversalWikiEditButton! Keep on rockin' :-)
Fridemar ... I love your energy on the UniversalWikiEditButton! There is one tweak to your style that I'd like to suggest. When I'm chatting with someone on their status page, I've found that I get a better response if I ruthlessly avoid trying to convince them and instead focus on listening to their concerns and tweaking the document to work from them. I love to convince people (salesman at heart), but I've found that I create a sort of allergic reaction when I include phrases that pressure them into changing from not yet to yes. I've gotten a high pressure sales tactic feeling from some of your comments and so thought I'd share my experiences in the hopes that they'd be helpful. Keep up the great listening work! It's a pleasure to be working with you :-) Warm Regards Brandon

PennyBank calls for founding collaborators
Brandon .. thank you for your subtle "tweak" on my talk-page. I left there some sneak preview information and offer you and other friendly and constructive peers to join the foundation committee with an investment of 0.80 US$ :-) Fridemar 16:20, 10 July 2007 (PDT)
- Fridemar, I'm in. I'm a huge fan of transparency. I would like to make all of my financial transactions transparent. What is my next step? Brandon CS Sanders
- Hi Fridemar, not a lot of time but this PennyBank could interest my fellow worker Jean-Christophe Capelli. Don't hesitate to talk with him -- Christophe Ducamp | talk 06:10, 18 July 2007 (PDT)
- Hi Christophe, from our long common history in Meatball, you know that you and your friends are welcome. What about a dedicated PennyBank in the French speaking part of the world? I will visit Jean-Christophe with a greeting/recommendation of you. Thank you. Fridemar 13:48, 18 July 2007 (PDT)
Media Wiki Syntax
try TheWikiWay:WikiSyntax - it is one stop on a starter tour for new wiki folk. Not sure I am tracking your last comment on my universal wiki edit button page. MarkDilley
Thank you Mark for the direct link, which saves me time; you are invited to be part of the PennyBank.Biz. How do you think about it? Fridemar 13:24, 10 July 2007 (PDT)
Special:RecentChanges
Yes, there are not many edits in just one day... it's pretty crazy how the number of edits has been increasing so steadily. In the URL you can override it to show 1,000 etc. if you wish, but I believe it won't go back more than a week, but a person's contributions list and a page's history will. KristinaWeis
Kristina, thank you for the useful tip. fridemar 13:58, 25 July 2007 (PDT)
WhoWeAre
Hi,
I would just like to tell you about the WhoWeAre consensus poll. This is a unique opportunity for all community members to discuss and decide what AboutUs is and more importantly what role we, the community, plays.
The discussion is still in its initial stages and there are a handful of people involved in this discussion. But it's not enough. Every one of us has a stake in this process. We all need to air our views. Our opinions will make a difference. We cannot and must not let a handful of people define us. We must speak out and contribute because we are being defined and I for one would like to have a say in how I am being defined.
Please contribute to this really important project. Without you it cannot successfully create a good definition of who we are. Tanwir Shah

Open source accounting software
Fridemar, You were king enough to leave a question about accounting software in my pages. I am not sure if you have seen the answer: http://www.aboutus.org/3DN_accounting

Projects:WhoWeAre
Hi Fridemar, This is the message I'm sending to all people listed on Projects:WhoWeAre (TedErnst, Brandon CS Sanders, Obed Suhail, Asad Butt, MartinPfahler, Wally Wilson User:fridemar).
- WhoWeAre stage 1 consensus poll went live just a few minutes ago.
- If you have little time (one minute?), I invite you to take a look at your status page in the WhoWeAre stage 1 consensus poll and set an appropriate status message.
- If you have more time, I invite you to look more closely at WhoWeAre and then at Projects:WhoWeAre to see what needs to be done, or add to the list of what needs to be done.
- Thanks much! TedErnst
WhoWeAre facilitation
Hi Fridemar,
Thanks for indicating that you'd like to help with ConsensusPollFacilitation for WhoWeAre. The Stage 1 consensus poll has officially begun, and this note is to invite you to visit your status page and update the comment and/or the status. We also have Projects:WhoWeAre#Engaging facilitators as a place to keep track of what facilitators are doing. Feel free to jump right in with tasks on the list there and/or ask questions and/or add to the list. Thanks much!

NewSkin Beta Preview
Hello Fridemar!
We've noticed your contributions and are glad to be on the AboutUs team with you! As an ActiveMember your energy and ideas determine our future direction. One way that ActiveMembers stay "in the loop" is to participate in the beta previews of large new changes to the site before they are generally released.
Today we're starting a limited beta preview of an earthy NewSkin intended to reflect the alive and growing AboutUs community. The NewSkin is designed to feel wholesome and connected with the real world. This choice was made to reassure the many folks who feel that the internet is a "scary place" where mean people hide behind fake identities and shout insults at each other. We hope that the NewSkin evokes our values in a way that helps visitors and members alike feel grounded in true community.
We'd love your help putting the NewSkin through its paces! To give it a whirl you'll need to be logged in. Once you are logged in, go to "my preferences" | "skin" and select "design". Don't forget to then click the "save" button! You can always go back to the current skin by selecting "aboutus" via the same steps.
Your feedback on the new look for aboutus will help ensure that it has a maximally positive impact when we roll it out. Thanks for being a valuable member of the community, we look forward to your feedback on the NewSkin page!
Warm Regards,
the DevelopmentTeam
Thank you for the appealing skin and the notification. I am on the new design now.

WhoWeAre Stage 1 Consensus Poll
Hi Fridemar, The WhoWeAre Stage 1 Consensus Poll has surpassed all it's GoThresholds and the DoneTimer has started. This means that all participants now have the opportunity to check WhoWeAre Stage 1 one more time, to make sure that nothing has been overlooked. Please feel free to change the document and/or change your status, if need be. Best, Obed Suhail 02:48, 25 September 2007 (PDT)
WhoWeAre Stage 2
Hi Fridemar,
I just left you a note: WhoWeAre:Stage2Status/Fridemar. TedErnst | talk 14:52, 5 November 2007 (PST)
Hi
Hi Fridemar, nice to hear from you! Its always good to meet similar minded people; it opens new avenues to explore our areas of interest. Besides theology and philosophy, I also study world religions. Looking forward to work and learn with you on the Wiki. Have a very nice day :-) Best, Obed Suhail
Hi Obed, thank you for your notifications, your personal feedback and ... studying world religions. A knowledge-rich, peaceful and loving dialogue between the world religions (and beyond) is a substantial contribution for more peace and life-quality in the world. fridemar 13:05, 2 November 2007 (PDT)
AboutUsCoreValues
I think I just did to something that I guess works for now. WhoWeAre and other value-related things are being articulated right now, but I think this one works for now... maybe? Kristina | **talk** 18:36, 2 November 2007 (PDT) Thank you Kristina, our actions were done in parallel; so there might be some edit-conflict. fridemar 18:43, 2 November 2007 (PDT)
Template:GoogleLink
Hi Fridemar, feel free to improve the template yourself, if you like, or make a new one that meets your needs. I didn't write the template, but even if I did, have at it! Just so you know, I am a HUGE CamelCase fan, and would love for them to be automatically linked. And, I'm guessing we will not be modifying mediawiki in this way, but instead adding CamelCase support to TopSoil, when we get there. Hope all is well with you, and I look forward to working with you more on the values. I loved your contribution to my FutureLink WorkInPublic! peace, TedErnst | talk 07:37, 3 November 2007 (PDT)
- HowToMakeATemplate definitely needs someone to write it. I started. I asked Vartain if he'd like to do it. By the way, you have no link to your talk page from your PersonalPage anymore. TedErnst | talk 21:18, 3 November 2007 (PDT)
- Hi Fridemar, thanks for your contribution Hoofsmith; I've read Meatball:HoofSmith, and appreciate the work especially in the context of WhoWeAre. Kasey 15:33, 8 November 2007 (PST)
Hi Fridemar, thanks for sharing about your group’s work, I tend to mull new things a bit- your proposal is very interesting. I can appreciate the connections between people, mods to behavior and the potential for those engaged in the process to subvert traditional roles. I think it is exciting to explore the limitations and role of the specialist. When is your proposal due, how long has the group been working on it? I’d really like to learn more…. Also, I fixed a link from your user/personal page the ‘’Leave Me a Message’’ it directed to KristinaWeis. Kasey 10:49, 13 November 2007 (PST) Thx Kasey for fixing the link and for your interest. Tomorrow we have a conversation with the man, who is the gatekeeper, who can amplify or dampen our proposal. I think the future is peer to peer, similar like here in AboutUs. fridemar 12:24, 13 November 2007 (PST)
The tigermaus.de girl subsequently sent an e-mail to support, but I don't know how/why she found you to message first. Sorry, Kristina ..talk.. 18:18, 4 December 2007 (PST)

bilinks and such
Fridemar,
I haven't entirely groked the bilinks thing. Give me a tutorial? TedErnst (talk) 10:24, 29 February 2008 (PST)
- Thank you Ted, I tried a first answer on your talkpage and its BiLinked context. --fridemar 17:18, 29 February 2008 (PST)
BiLinks
This seems like a really interesting concept. It's similar to a backlink, yes? I like it. TedErnst (talk) 16:19, 29 February 2008 (PST)
- Using BiLinks is a cultivated form of using backlinks. They deliberately increase both, the value of the source and that of the target pages. Hopefully they will soon be supported by the WikiEngines or WikiBrowsers, because doing them manually is an exhausting (but worthwile) task. fridemar 17:22, 29 February 2008 (PST)

ExtremeOpenBusiness reworking
Hello Fridemar. We have made this change quickly. Indeed I was reworking the ExtremeOpenBusiness page when I discovered your reworking. I am happy to see such rapid moves. However it appears coediting at the same time is impractical so I will wait until your reworking process is complete before I extend the process. It would like it if you could flag me when you have essentially completed your current work. Aaron Poeze 10:13, 20 June 2008 (PDT)
Thank you Aaron, for starting the reworking. Yes, I am back to the computer now and continue, leaving intermediary WorkInProgress messages (perhaps enriched with additional comments) on the Meatball:ShortDigest. After finishing my round, I leave (as suggested) a ready message here (or on your user talk-page User_talk:Aaron. By the way, my earlier experience with polished open dialogues is reflected in e.g. RiskSharingPassiveReturnBrainstorming and DomainRegistrarTransfer. fridemar 14:29, 20 June 2008 (PDT)
BiLinks
Aaron: Thankyou Fridemar. I look forward to seeing how I can help polish the document and appreciate you doing the hard yards. It also appears a community member here has refocused my personal information to the Aaron Poeze page under the concept of disambiguation. He suggests this is normal practice here.
I am uncertain of where I stand in this community new to me but having two personal pages to maintain on just one community site is very inefficient. I may have to abandon the Aaron page. Aaron Poeze 17:53, 20 June 2008 (PDT)
Fridemar: Hello Aaron, sorry for the disambuigation procedure (similar to the Wikipedia procedure), I didn't anticipate, because Aaron was not yet taken. In the case of Clarissa it was no problem; however in your case it appears to cause a problem (relativ to the other Aaron entries, who have a longer history here).
I think all the other Aaron entities will have a benefit from such superactive members as you (and myself), because this way they all get more exposure :-)
Yes TedErnst is an appreciated community and staff member, and has the painful responsibility to balance out a lot of different (often conflicting) interests. I thank him many helpful interventions and you will soon see, that he is on the side of friendly and constructive active community members. Frankly ask him or KristinaWeis for advice.
For synchronizing our goals, here my sketched vision for my next suggested steps: I would like to update and link my open domain portfolio to ExtremeOpenBusiness. This is realized as a rudimentary Google Spreadsheet to be developed into a buy/sell/makeoffer tool with an integrated payment gateway (howsoever, perhaps with your suggested LET, Ripplepay or GoogleCheck, Paypal or NamePros or ... transactions)
If you too create your open domain-portefolio as such a Spreadsheet, (even if it has a single entry) we can link them with each other and offer to act as pilot testers, simulating the endproduct with real world data.
We can go on, telling our Wiki:UserStory, formulating our Wiki:AcceptanceTest and running through the whole gammut of [Wiki:ExtremeProgramming] practises, inviting programmers of the OpenSource/CreativeCommons movement to programm such an interface for SocialDomaining.
We might consider EditGrid.com too, I have green light from them to use this wonderful Spreadsheet software for zero cost, although it is a (social) commercial application.
I see a lot of PR-relevant OpenMails we can write, to trigger the process, combined with real business transactions. En passant we will generalize the XP principles, adapting them to ExtremeOpenBusiness, applied to SocialDomaining.
There is so much stuff to collaborate on in HolisticMode (See Meatball:CollaborativeMode ), that every helping hand is welcome to participate.
It's important to strive for tasty morcel presentations of our ideas; otherwise our readers/collaborators will have to suffer from mental overload.

Disambuigation Aaron
I will ask him then and verify his desire I abandon the Aaron page. -- Aaron

Reworking ExtremeOpenBusiness
I am working on the ExtremeOpenBusiness page atm. When I am complete I'll let you know and you can let me know how some changes might not be best, remember I have not reworked a wiki before. I may also leave notes for you where you input would be appreciated. -- Aaron
Ok. fridemar 04:09, 21 June 2008 (PDT)
Agreement on Spreadsheet
I enthusiastically agree with adding the spreadsheet in and I will do the same copying the format you use for consistency. -- Aaron
Ok. fridemar 04:09, 21 June 2008 (PDT)
Basic Rework complete
I've finished this basic reworking and you can go ahead and change/see what you think. I hope I have added some value and clarity.
I am wondering how much of the conversation mode you want to retain. I think the offers and acceptances we make are worth preserving in an 'as is' conversation but am inclined to slash up the rest for conciseness.
- Yes Aaron, what about slashing it into the annotation sphere TrailFire. fridemar 04:09, 21 June 2008 (PDT)
I agree with making the new page on our move to AboutUs. We also need to complete the signatures and make the links we want active to work.
Yes, definitely. fridemar 04:09, 21 June 2008 (PDT)
Division of work: Focus on AboutUs / WardsWiki
I will now focus a little more of AboutUS as a community. That page was the first priority but it's time to discover what makes AboutUs tick and the kind of expectations that exist here. -- Aaron
In the meantime I concentrate myself (besides the Spreadsheet work) on adapting XP stuff to XOB in WardsWiki. fridemar 04:09, 21 June 2008 (PDT)
List of Reasons to Move
Thanks for the work on FromMeatballToAboutus as well. I was wondering if you could add your list of compelling reasons to move to that page which was originally on AaronPoeze in MeatBall.
Hopefully today this identity crisis (haha!) can be sorted. I guess we also need to explore what form of WikiBank-like process to use. There are so many part solutions. Is developing our own a good idea? I also think we would benefit by drawng in more people. That kind of begs them to ask what we are doing. Maybe this needs to be more prominent.
BlipTV and StenoMotion response
This BlipTV certainly sounds promising. I had a bit of a look aorund and it doesn't seem to locked in which is even better. Of course it means your suggestion of 'like reality tv' was literal!
StenoMotion is a concept i do not yet fully understand. I watched your pieces on Youtube.
I have a vague idea of the intention. Which is to use shorthand in a sign language method. I suppose you know of my hearing impairment via the blog. As it happens I am one of the few with such hearing impairment that do know the local sign language (Auslan). I was brought up in a 'normal' mode with no special education.
However, I have some deaf friends and I understand how Auslan and some other sign works. Do you have experience with the deaf community in Germany?
