Why : Why not... uh, no... I'm a guy with a ton of opinions and all my friends are always asking me what I think about this or that. This page lets me tell them, and you. For free! I make no money with this stupid page. I guess that makes me stupid. For a while things were looking good but some of the ad sites that were my sponsor went bankrupt owing me thousands. Sucks to be me. Anyway, when all the other sites are dying or turning to pay services, I refuse to stop (and who would pay for this crap?).
On the plus side there are some fantastic people out there who encourage my efforts to spew opinions. One of the most touching is when my web host got shut down by the SEC, a reader tracked down my real name and called me to ask if I was OK becuase he was such a fan of the site. That makes it worth my time. I love the people who visit my site. How much? Enough that I don't hassle you with my financial state or beg for donations (not yet, anyway. I've been thinking about it). Just think, I've been putting in many hours every week for years. When was the last time you did something for people you don't know and will probably never meet? I have sponsors that if you like what I do, you can buy your stuff through them and I get a commision without changing the amount you pay. Support me by buying stuff you would already buy.
What gives me the right to critique anything? The web and free speech. My qualifications about music are that I've worked for some good artists as an engineer and musician and spent a life in and out of the fringes of the music business. I've also had about every job under the sun. I've lived an interesting life and hopefully have interesting things to say. I dunno. Disagree with me? Cool, post a message on the message board and we can talk. God bless America for my opportunity to write stuff and have people read it.
