Description
My name is Bill, and this is my site Mermaniac. I call it a Show Tunes Weblog, but it's really just a place for me to write about stuff that interests me.
I've been involved in the online theater world since the early '90s, starting off with the usenet group rec.arts.theatre.musicals, and then the Cast Recording Mailing List. I started my website Better Living Through Show Tunes in the late summer of 1996. In October of 1999 I started my weblog, which I soon called Mermaniac in honor of an album of Ethel Merman's private recordings that was released that year. The weblog has taken over my site.
On the personal side, I've lived in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1994, when I moved out here to pursue a graduate degree. I've since left Cal, with some of my sanity and a master's degree. I currently live in Berkeley.
