AboutUs: The guide to websites and businesses that you can edit
AboutUs is a wiki for, and about, businesses, organizations, blogs, forums, and really anything or anyone that has a website. Think of us as your guide to websites. As a guide to websites, AboutUs aims to provide you with an introduction to relevant sites in the areas you care about. We also offer you a chance to share your knowledge of websites. Currently, more than 6 million people visit AboutUs.org each month.

As a wiki, information on AboutUs pages can be added to and changed by clicking the edit button.
Finding information - If you'd like to see what information we have on a given website domain or share your knowledge of it, simply search for the URL (like Example.com) in the Find! box above.
Sharing your knowledge - AboutUs is what it is today thanks to the people who edit and improve it. Please feel free to help build this guide to websites by using the many 'edit' buttons to do anything from fixing a spelling error to adding a paragraph of text or picture. Because AboutUs is a highly trafficked guide to websites, an increasing number of business owners want to make sure they have a great page about their website(s) here.
Everyone is welcome to edit their page themselves for free, but for business owners who would like an enhanced page from our team of writers and wiki experts we offer an article creation service. You can see the articles we've created so far on our Spotlight Articles page.

Our Technology
- AboutUs was pre-populated with information about many different websites.
- The thumbnail images are provided by Name Intelligence's proprietary thumbnail service and provide a link to the referred-to site.
- Our CamelCaseing of domain names is a Name Intelligence technology, and we use it to help make domain names more readable. If you notice that the CamelCasing is wrong, you can correct it.
- The map in the "Website Information" box is from Google Maps' service.
- We developed Influence Us as a way for people to leave constructive feedback for websites (similar to reviews).
- We developed the Page Views and Recent Contributors box (to the right of each page) to make the edits and visits each page receives more transparent.

- Saad Saeed's reply : Dear Mike, the ProtectEmail works by converting emails into images. Those images are saved as hash keys on the wiki so cannot be salvaged as email addresses. You may see the email address while you preview the page but as soon as it is saved, the email is turned into a hash and displayed as an image. 09:30, 27 October 2008 (PDT)

- Kristina Weis' reply : This has been a bug ever since Google updated PageRank in July of 08. As of last night PageRank toolbars are now showing the PR on AboutUs pages that was there the whole time, and I elaborated more about this in my blog post today. 10 November 2008
