- 2006 American Diabetes Walk-a-Thon
- Well, the walk was yesterday and Heather and I had a *GREAT* time! The weather was perfect for walking and the crowd was a whole lot larger than we expected! The organization was lacking this year, unfortunately (we heard in years past it's been much better) and we never really had a good idea where we were heading (neither did most anyone else!) -- eventually we all met at the back entrance to the zoo and then things really fell apart... there were *NO* signs telling us what the route was throughout the zoo so we just walked around a bunch until we'd had our fill... up to the zoo I figure we walked about 2.5-3 miles. We might have walked another 2-2.5 miles while we were at the zoo, maybe. Either way it was a great time. There were a whole lot of diabetics there and we got some great information about new laws concerning diabetics as well as a look at some new diabetic products coming out on the market.
