- Lately I’ve be re-engrossed in music. Various sounds of music have long enraptured me from the time I was little and used to loudly sing to tunes eminating from this old green 8 track tape player that my mom gave me. They were already out-of-date by then but Mom had kept the green monster and quite a few 8 tracks ranging from Elvis Presley to the Bee Gees to Kenny Rogers & the 5th Edition. I loved putting those things in and singing at the top of my not so developed lungs. I’d always get pissed as hell when the song would jump right in the middle to another track as it’d severely interrupt my rhythm. It’s not hard to figure out why 8 tracks were the quickest platform in audio to come and go. It was right up there with Betamax for biggest bomb.
