- In 1989, a group of Berkeley Unified School District students began towork in cooperation towards maximum enjoyment of Grateful Dead shows in Northern California. This psychedelic after-school-club helped to bring its members to new heights of artistic appreciation. From 1990 until 1995,this ever expanding group of friends (many of whom had no connection with the Berkeley Public School District) called themselves the Berkeley High Contingent.
