Ever noticed a little red exclamation point (!) next to an edit listed on the recent changes page? Did you know you can remove those exclamation points by patrolling edits? The idea is that having a group of people patrolling edits should reduce spam and vandalism.
- To mark an edit as patrolled, click the "diff" link next to an unpatrolled edit, survey the edit to be sure it isn't spam or vandalism, then click the "Mark as patrolled" link near the top right of the page.
- It's a different process to mark a new page patrolled. Since there is no "diff" link, you need to click on the article name instead. The link to patrol says, "Mark this article as patrolled", and it appears at the bottom right corner of the article.
- If you'd like to help out in the effort of patrolling recent changes, put your name on the list below. Adding your name to the list constitutes a commitment of time to patrolling. This page will serve as a hub for patrollers to get in contact with one another. Feel free to list any questionable edits at the bottom of this page to call them to the attention of other patrollers.

This is a glossary of terms often used in the summary section of edits by AboutUs Recent Changes Patrol to help define our activites. The summary can be viewed under the history tab and in RecentChanges to help show our thinking on edits. Here are just a few of nearly a hundred different glossary terms:
Discussion
Recently, we've begun referring to this function as "peer review," and have discovered that it's even more fun and effective when people are doing it together (at the same time, not necessarily the same place), and are dropping links into IRC whenever there's a question or you want the others to see an edit you've made. Comments?
