Feel free to continue exploring the wonderful world of wiki here at AboutUs.org where everyone may collaborate to build the commons and community through their edits and participation. Be sure to let us/me know if you have any questions along the way (you can leave a message on my talk page via the talk link by my name, join the AboutUs WebIRC here, or check the "currently online" section on the homepage for someone knowledgeable and send them a message on their talk page). I wonder if you might want to add a little information about yourself on your personal page? (Check out PersonalPages for guidance or click my name below as an example.) Please don't hesitate to let me know if you'd like some assistance in accomplishing your goals on AboutUs and if you want some help or new ideas I've found the help page to be a nice resource. Welcome to the AboutUs community - it's great to have you! Have a great night of editing and making the site a better resource and community for everyone.

awesome

Hi Sander, I *loved* your logo and your brief thought behind it. People are so scared about BigBrother (myself included) that it feels good to me that real people are working the information in human ways. Best, MarkDilley

Hi Sander,

I can understand why you would prefer not to have your potential customers get distracted by your competitors. I can also understand why your potential customers would prefer to survey all the relevant options.

It's an interesting conundrum. If the balance of interests is difficult to untangle, I like to imagine "Joe Reader" searching for and finding the AboutUs page about your domain. I ask myself, "What information would best serve Joe Reader's needs?" This usually steers me in one direction or the other.

I find it useful to think about the pages on AboutUs as a balance among messages about an organization. Some of the messages come from inside the organization, and some of them come from outside the organization.

Have you considered taking out an ad sense advertisement so that your ad might show up on the AboutUs pages of your competitors?

Or perhaps it makes sense to present a fair comparison of all the relevant options on each of the AboutUs pages about your field so that your potential customers don't need to resort to clicking on advertisements to find what they are looking for?

I don't know ... what do you think?

Brandon
