Gilehery, thanks for all the cool updates to your user page. -- TakKendrick

Nice work here! Best, MarkDilley

Please remember...

Hi, there and welcome to AboutUs. I feel the need to remind you what AboutUs is and what we are not. We're an open-content wiki about websites (and more). However, we are not your own personal webhost. If you feel the need to post a blog or something of that nature, please look for free or low-cost website hosting providers (ie. Wordpress.org, GooglePages.com, Geocities.com). If you have any questions, please feel free to let me (or one of the staff here) know. Thanks. — Nathan (talk)/ 10:20, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

I disagree wholeheartedly! We are in fact your own personal webhost, blog, wiki, whatever. However, your user page and some of your edits are little confusing. Maybe you could explain to us what you're doing or how you want to use AboutUs so we can help you get the most out of the site? ScottKeeler | :::talk:::

Another perspective

Hi, another way to think about this is, how do your edits work within the community of AboutUs. When I see your page, it is large and a little hard to read, but I do note that you are doing it on your PersonalPage which is good, because it is contained :-) - Food for thoughts! Best, MarkDilley

Categories

Could I ask you please, not to make categories that refer to yourself? It's not a good idea to add DomainPages of every social networking profile you own. Why not just add links to them in your main DomainPage? Can you help me understand how these edits can benefit the project? Thank you. Nathan (talk) / 21:03, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

Pages outside of your userspace

I'd like to request that if you're making pages and edits about yourself, please stick to pages within "User:Gilehery" - as these can be easily identified as about you. Thanks! Nathan (talk) / 18:09, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

Absolutely Fabulous

Hi Gilehery,

I came across your user page while looking at the recent changes and I have got to say that it is fantastic. A real optical feast. Tanwir Shah

Hello

First off, your PersonalPage is great to say the least which is why I was a little alarmed when I noticed through Special:RecentChanges that an IP address has been making edits to it the last few days. I just wanted to make sure you knew/it was you making the edits. Let me know if we can help with anything. KristinaWeis 02:34, 5 July 2007 (PDT) p.s. Have you seen WikiAnatomy yet?

sendvic

I have moved sendvic to User:Gilehery/sendvic because it should be in your userspace. Can you help me understand why you're adding all these images? I look forward to a response. Thanks, Nathan (talk) / 22:53, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

WhoWeAre

Hi,

I would just like to tell you about the WhoWeAre consensus poll. This is a unique opportunity for all community members to discuss and decide what AboutUs is and more importantly what role we, the community, plays.

The discussion is still in its initial stages and there are a handful of people involved in this discussion. But it's not enough. Every one of us has a stake in this process. We all need to air our views. Our opinions will make a difference. We cannot and must not let a handful of people define us. We must speak out and contribute because we are being defined and I for one would like to have a say in how I am being defined.

Please contribute to this really important project. Without you it cannot successfully create a good definition of who we are. Tanwir Shah

NewSkin Beta Preview

Hello Darko!

We've noticed your contributions and are glad to be on the AboutUs team with you! As an ActiveMember your energy and ideas determine our future direction. One way that ActiveMembers stay "in the loop" is to participate in the beta previews of large new changes to the site before they are generally released.

Today we're starting a limited beta preview of an earthy NewSkin intended to reflect the alive and growing AboutUs community. The NewSkin is designed to feel wholesome and connected with the real world. This choice was made to reassure the many folks who feel that the internet is a "scary place" where mean people hide behind fake identities and shout insults at each other. We hope that the NewSkin evokes our values in a way that helps visitors and members alike feel grounded in true community.

We'd love your help putting the NewSkin through its paces! To give it a whirl you'll need to be logged in. Once you are logged in, go to "my preferences" | "skin" and select "design". Don't forget to then click the "save" button! You can always go back to the current skin by selecting "aboutus" via the same steps.

Your feedback on the new look for aboutus will help ensure that it has a maximally positive impact when we roll it out. Thanks for being a valuable member of the community, we look forward to your feedback on the NewSkin page!

Warm Regards,
the DevelopmentTeam
