Swaroop C H is 23 years of age. He graduated in B.E. (Computer Science) from PES Institute of Technology, Bangalore, India in 2004. He now spends most of his time as the engineer for the Buzz Index in the Advanced Metrics team of the Strategic Data Solutions Group at Yahoo!
In his final year in college, he started to write a beginner’s book ‘A Byte of Python’ on how to program using the Python programming language. It was made available free to everyone who wished to use it and received incredible amount of feedback and encouragement from the readers.
The book has had nearly 40,000 downloads in the past 2 years. Various volunteers are translating the book into Chinese, Italian, German, Arabic, Spanish, Icelandic, Portuguese,French and many other languages as well. The book is available at www.byteofpython.info. He has had several offers from reputed international publishing companies and plans to publish the book later this year.
