Stacyinthecity is my corner on the internet, and I hope to keep you entertained and informed about the music, books, movies, and so forth that I enjoyed. I’ll be posting my observations of live in New York City – the funny things that happen to me here and there, thoughts on life in the city that never sleeps, and so forth. But perhaps a bigger part of what I have planned here are the pop culture reviews. I frequently go to concerts, and I will be writing reviews of those shows. I enjoy reading and watching movies, so you can look for those reviews as well. Music is a huge part of my life, so aside from concert reviews, there will also be CD reviews. Basically, your typical pop-culture oriented blog.
I’ve left out what I believe will be the most valuable component of this site. I’ve saved the best for last. See, Stacyinthecity isn’t just my website, but it is also the name of my podcast. The first show will be available for download before the close of the day on September 1, 2005, and I am positively thrilled. Not just about this show in particular, but about the podcast in general.
I have a lot of great stuff planned for the podcast. I’ve been contacting some of my favorite labels and musicians to ask for permission to play their music, and I’m also discovering many great bands that don’t yet have major distribution. These are bands that you probably haven’t heard yet, but I’ll be changing that for you. Aside from the music you will be hearing, you’ll also have other things to look forward to. For example: interviews with bands and artists, spotlights on labels and regions, and reviews of albums.
