The obligatory about page. My name’s Ian and I live and work in Glasgow, Scotland. To get in touch use the contact form or e-mail - ian at iand.net.
I’m employed as an Applications Engineer (what does that mean?) and I have only worked at one firm (shipbuilder based on the Clyde) since leaving Glasgow University in 1995. Although my tasks are pretty varied they mostly involve Oracle and the management of data in one way or another although I get to hack around far less than I used to. Shame.
Outside work is a mixture of gaming, computers, movies and music. Not a big surprise if you look at some of the posts on the site. Biggest hobby is definitely gaming. The list of home computers and consoles that I’ve owned is large and I’d hate to think how much money I’ve spent over the years funding the habit. The £125 on Mario Kart for the N64 still stings. CA Games has a lot to answer for. Current gaming needs are met with an Xbox 360 on a hi-def LCD. Gorgeous.
