- Glen is currently finishing his PhD at the Centre for Cultural Research, University of Western Sydney. The PhD is entitled Modified: Cars and Culture, it delves into contemporary modified-car culture in Australia. The research is organised around fieldwork and archival work. The thesis is principally an investigation into the nature of enthusiast cultures: what is an enthusiasm? how are cultural formations organised around an enthusiasm? how do cultural industries capitalise on an enthusiasm? how does the state intervene in an enthusiasm? In the process of writing up his research he is also working on developing a cultural studies of the event.
