URL Question

To be honest, I'm not seeing what you are talking about. I'm looking at the AboutUs page Statisztikus.hu and it does not have the www, I do not see any link with the www, and when I mouse over it I don't see it either, and when I click that top link it takes me to http://statistztikus.hu. Perhaps you already fixed it, but looking back through the older versions the URLs all look right as well so I'm not sure. ?

Categories that are "red links" are simply a category with no description. An empty content category so to speak. You still see all the pages listed in the category though. Please accept this as an invitation to add constructive words there :-) - Upon save, the link will no longer be red. Does that make sense? By the way, is Katonal your first name? Best, MarkDilley

Site Slowness

I jumped into the AboutUs Web IRC and asked around about this issue. It has come up before that users in other countries have had this same issue and I'm not really sure why it is happening, but it is very unfortunate. VinhNguyen suggested going to your prefences (link in top right of each page by "my talk" etc.) and updating your date/time because the default of Year, Month, Date may be slowing you down for some reason. (Doing this will also make it so that when you leave four tildas (~) it will sign your username with date and time as I've done below to sign this message.) It looks like Statisztikus.hu has already been nominated so it's in the list that TakKendrick looks at to choose featured pages each day. I would point to you towards the following page as it has some ideas for perfecting a DomainPage to become featured: How to improve AboutUs website pages. The page is looking great so far. One thing that I would suggest is to have the content of the WikiPage in both its existing language in addition to English if that is possible, as many of our visitors are English-speaking. Hi Katonal. Just wanted to thank you so much for the great work on the Statisztikus.hu and Statisztikus.hu/english/ pages. They look fabulous. I went ahead and featured them just now so they're up on our Home page and both now have a "blurb" at the bottom of the page as well. Google Maps

Hi Katonal,

I looked into the Google Maps problem on the Statisztikus.hu and Statisztikus.hu/English pages. It appears that our current Google Maps setup isn't working with any of pages with Hungarian addresses. We are working on installing a new Google Maps extension in the next couple of weeks which should fix the problem.

In the meantime, I did change the address on both pages so that if you click on it, it links to the GoogleMaps.com page for that address.

Hope this helps. When the extension has been installed, I'll try to remember to get it working on your pages ASAP, but you might want to ping me back in a few weeks to remind me.

I would just like to tell you about the WhoWeAre consensus poll. This is a unique opportunity for all community members to discuss and decide what AboutUs is and more importantly what role we, the community, plays.

The discussion is still in its initial stages and there are a handful of people involved in this discussion. But it's not enough. Every one of us has a stake in this process. We all need to air our views. Our opinions will make a difference. We cannot and must not let a handful of people define us. We must speak out and contribute because we are being defined and I for one would like to have a say in how I am being defined.

NewSkin Beta Preview
