- After years of secretly singing over records as a child in his native Victoriaville (somewhere between Quebec city and Montreal, Canada), Danny Provencher started playing bass in his secondary school band. He then moved to Montreal where he started writing and producing electronic music as Under Electric Light. After the release of his first EP (Untitled, 2002), which received good local reviews, he asked guitarist Mathieu Rodier, a fellow record store worker, to join him for a gig. At this point, after years of composing what he calls “instrumental pop songs”, Danny decided to add vocals and lyrics to them (lyrics are happily supplied by poet and songwriter Meb). This new joined effort resulted in the release of the Never See The Light EP (2005) and more recently the Blue e.p (2006) released in early May. UEL are currently working on their first album.
