- The idea is related to how goals can be reached. My experience in politics, advocacy and activism taught me that campaigns are won only by applying all the possible tactics in a concerted way, not by focussing on a single activity. I have to give credit to Howard Dowie who, in an interview, mentioned the total tactics concept referring to the previous works of Saul Alinsky.
