- I have only been a resident of San Francisco since January 2006 but I fell head over heels in love with the city long before that. I was eighteen and had spontaneously decided to jump in my pickup truck (a sexy white pickup truck, if I do say so myself) and head to San Francisco. I knew almost nothing about the city. I can recall only a few of the things that I did in the few days that I was here but the details don’t matter. What matters was that as I left my heart leaped out of my chest, lodged itself into the streets of San Francisco and demanded forever after that I return.
