Publius | friend of the people

Description

Excerpted from the website:

About
Publius was the pseudonym under which Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and John Jay published The Federalist, a series of essays intent on persuading the people of New York (and the rest of the fledgling nation) to ratify the newly drafted Constitution. This joint effort is an amazing example of statesmanship at its finest. Hamilton and Madison had very different opinions on how to shape the future of the United States and would eventually become bitter political rivals. But they both recognized that this Constitution was vital to keep the nation together, so they laid aside their differences for this collaborative effort that resulted in a stirring set of essays and the eventual ratification of the Constitution.
