Why we're doing this
- Create a resource for the wiki community that encourages trust relationships by clearly explaining the values of TheWikiWay
- Accountability...
We'll have this when:
- TheWikiWay becomes a valuable resource for other wikis
- The following articles meet the following criteria:
- How AboutUs applies this value
- Contains the history of the word and it's historical applications
- It's meaning should be jargon-free and easily understandable
- The articles have reviewed by someone outside of AboutUs
- The articles are connected and easily navigational
- This resource is incorporated into ongoing community building activities (FM, DB, Welc)
People
- TakKendrick is organizing this with Portland and Lahore
Project Tasks
- Write articles:
- Some articles redlinked in EfficientlyExpressedSuggestions that might need to be built out in this phase:
Why is this important?
- Avoids EgoProblems
- Decreases personal attachment to edits I've made (EditsAreExperiments)
- Reinforces the WelcomeToRevert
- Create navigational system
Discussion
I have edited some of the articles to aid clarity. I could not shake off the sexual connotations of ReleaseEarlyReleaseOften. I'm sure it wasn't intentional but I just had to press delete on this one. Tanwir Shah
How do we decide which values we are going to work on? What is an example of a nearly complete WikiWayArticle to show people what direction to go in? Tanwir Shah
OnceAndOnlyOnce
I noticed that the text of TheWikiWay:AssumeGoodFaith and AssumeGoodFaith was (nearly) identical, with the exception of WikiLinks in one and not the other. This is a maintanence nightmare, so I took a stab at a OnceAndOnlyOnce solution. If this seems like a good thing, we can do the same thing with all of the other articles. TedErnst
