- Service to others is the philosophy of my life; it informs everything that I do. So in 2002, after 20 years in the IT industry, a change was in order. Computer programming is sedentary, abstract work that often keeps programmer and customer separated from each other. I wanted to do something physically active, immediate, concrete and intimate - pretty much the exact opposite of computer programming. Friends always said I had “great hands” when giving them shoulder rubs, so all of these things combined to make investigating massage seem like a viable option.
