- Went to see and hear Wayne Shorter and his Quartet yesterday evening at the Philharmonie Luxembourg. Great concert, but atypical for a jazz performance. The old man entered and left the stage without saying a word. Concert lasted about 90 mins, a bit short... like Wayne himself ;-) I especially liked Brian Blade's performance on the drums. Had seen Patitucci on bass various times already, he was brilliant this time on Double Bass. Having heard Danilo Perez' solo effort on CD, i had some expectations. Honestly, his performance did not meet them. Wayne was extraordinary, subtle, tender and very musical...
