Duke Kahanamoku

Duke Kahanamoku is our Pug. He was named after the famed Hawaiian who is known as the Father of Surfing. His, the human Duke not the Pug, statue stands on Waikiki Beach as a memorial to Duke and all that he did for the Hawaiian culture and of course for surfing.

Duke Kahanamoku, the Pug, is 14 months old and quit the character. Most of our pictures of him we post on flickr. It seems like everyday he gets bigger and fatter and just plain cuter. He’s already outgrown one collar and is on his way to making number two a relic.

Duke also has strange fetishes. He’s gotten to a point where he won’t eat food out of his bowl. He instead uses his paw and pulls the food out and spills it all over the floor where he eats it with delight. It’s cute but it does get the floor all messy, thankfully it’s not wet food. He also likes to sleep on our heads. Every night i wake up with Duke sleeping on my pillow and using my head as his own pillow, i don’t know how that can be comfortable but he seems to enjoy it.
