- Cerebral palsy is a birth defect. Trisha has it. Notice she does not say she “suffers from it.” It is a handicap, to be sure, and living with CP is not a breeze. But it also does not mean that you can’t get out there and do what you want and enjoy your life. Trisha is a full-time student working toward a two-year degree in paralegal studies. She is also a web designer. She possesses the same drive, determination and indomitable spirit as another, more famous, individual, actress/comedienne Geri Jewell. (Geri was the first actress with a major disability (CP) to be featured in a TV series.)
