AdobeFreeHand

FreeHand is an application for drawing images based on vector. Originally created by Macromedia, FreeHand was acquired by Adobe Systems when they purchased Macromedia in Dec. 2005.

With FreeHand, you can easily and quickly create vector graphics that can be printed and resized at any resolution, without losing clarity or detail. You can also use FreeHand to create & print web illustrations such as logos and advertising banners. With Freehand it’s very easy to turn your artwork into Flash animations.

The FreeHand user interface contains a workspace and a panel of tools that are consistent with other Macromedia/Adobe products such as Dreamweaver, Fireworks, and Flash, to give you a true integrated print and web solution. In addition, now you can view and test your FreeHand documents in a Flash window without ever leaving the FreeHand workspace. Whether you design for print or web, freehand offers a number of new features and improvements and some of the features of Freehand are mentioned below:

  • Grouping of Panels or Tabs -- In the new version of Freehand, it’s easier to group all the panels or tabs at the right side of the workspace or the freehand window. You can also customize the panel by adding or removing used or unused buttons.
  • Object Panel -- With the help of object panel, you can change the properties of any object or text in your workspace.
  • Applying Multiple Strokes -- With Freehand, it’s now easier to apply multiple strokes or fills to a particular image or object, adding new potentials to your illustrations.
  • Easily Import Flash Files -- Freehand allows importing of Flash files i.e. “.swf” files in freehand and then exporting the same to freehand document. This makes your workflow easier than before.
  • Simplified settings for Flash movies -- Along with import of Flash files to freehand, it’s easier to operate and control the properties of flash movie files in Freehand allowing you to work with maximum flexibility.
