- BornAgainDemocrats.com was born of anger and frustration in the aftermath of the November elections of2004. It is the brain child of one Luke Lea, a life-long Democrat and 5th generation resident of Tennessee’s 3rd Congressional District (not to be confused with the infamous Luke Lea of Tennessee, who hatched a plan to capture the Kaiser at the end of World War I, and later ended up in jail; though, manifestly, the two men occupy neighboring branches on the same family tree, and would seem to share a certain wild gene.) The aim of the organization is to identify, recruit, endorse, and support a new kind of Democratic candidate for Congress — one who can compete against Republicans in red-state America.
