osCommerce is an online shop e-commerce solution that offers a wide range of features and allows online stores to be setup fairly quickly with ease, and is available for free as an Open Source based solution released under the GNU General Public License.Solutions
osCommerce is a complete online store solution that contains both a catalog front end and an administration tool back end, which can be easily installed and configured over a web-based installation procedure. osCommerce 2.2 is still in the development phase with milestone releases available that are considered stable. Milestone releases are however development releases and are thus not maintained, with any bug fixes being made for the next milestone release. You can download the latest version of osCommerce for both Windows and Linux and from different sources depending on your location. Links are available in the download section. This section consists of many parts including support forums, contributions section, roadmaps and photo galleries.
Support Forums
Support forums have currently about 123000 community members which help each other to get osCommerce work for them in the right way. The community support forums provides a means to communicate with community members and project enthusiasts located all over the world, where people help each other out, discuss project features, and participate in development issues.
Contributions
The contributions is the main section used on the website which helps people to modify and transform osCommerce solution according to their own requirements. Contributions are provided by the community which is in the form of project add-ons, feature updates, language packs, and extended modules. All contributed work is freely available under the GNU General Public License.
Showcases
This section contains demos for the people to have a look how osCommerce shop looks like. This section also contains links to live shops from which people can get the idea of how things can be modified and made working for them. You can say that this is a “try before you install” section.
