Variable Data Printing is a term used to describe the process of incorporating a database(s) or file(s) to create unique content on each printed piece in a digital print environment. Variable Data Printing is typically used in two main print categories.

Transactional Printing

This term is used to describe primarily financial documents such as invoices, statements, and financial records such as investment reports or 401K documents.

Promotional Printing

This type of printing is associated with marketing communications such as direct mail with individual messages.
