- David Miller,a third-generation Wakulla County educator, was sworn in to the office of Superintendent of Schools-during a hurricane-on June 6, 1995. Recommended to the then Governor of Florida, Lawton Chiles, by fellow educators and local politicians, David was tapped to assume the Superintendency and complete the term of office after the untimely death of the previous Superintendent.
