Hi there. Thanks for your message. At this stage, all links on AboutUs are "NoFollowed" so, no, there's no SEO advantage in terms of backlinks for your website if you create a page on the site. However, you do get chance to showcase your company on a website that receives millions of unique visitors every month. Also, there's a strong possibility for our "NoFollow" policy to change in the future, at least for our community generated pages that contain useful information about the relevant company though we're not promising anything right now. Links on your Website's AboutUs Page changed to DoFollow
Hi there. Thanks for continuing to work on AboutUs pages for the websites you're interested in. We now have the ability to turn links on pages where people have added useful information about websites. Therefore, I have DoFollowed the links on one of the pages you've recently edited: TheDanceWhisperer.com. Please let me know if there are any other pages that you think should also be changed to DoFollow. Please note that these pages should have good original content, information about the website's products/offerings, a summary at the top, contact information and proper capitalization of the page title. Spam alerts? How do I change my user name?
The default AboutUs settings specify that any page that a person creates or edits is added to their watchlist. This is because of the fact that users who edit their company/website page are usually interested in keeping an eye on the future edits on that page. But, since you edited my page, it was also added to your watchlist and you started receiving alerts when other people edited it. In order to fix this, just go to your watchlist (link in the top right corner), and then click "See all watched pages". Then you can just remove my page or any other pages from your watchlist that you're no longer interested in. In order to change your settings so that the pages don't automatically get added to your watchlist, go to Account (again top right corner) and then uncheck the box where it says Add pages I create or edit to my watchlist. As for your user name, we usually prefer people to use their real name instead of their company name for their account on AboutUs - of course, it's not a must. You can get in touch with Mark Dilley if you want to have your user name changed. I'll leave him a message too. Let me know if there's anything else I can help you with.
