Welcome to AboutUs.org. Couple of things, if you are interested in helping out, RecentChanges patrol is a good place to be. From there you can see what is happening in the wiki and find other things you might be interested in doing. Second, MediaWiki.org has a less than lackluster search ability. They are aware of it, but as Google searches Wikipedia.org easily, they don't have it high on their priority list to improve.
