Great work so far, Eric! A key value of wikis, or at least this one, is assume good faith... meaning that everyone is trying to give the benefit of the doubt to everyone else that they are making constructive edits and so on. Because of this there isn't a need to do anything special, although it can be very helpful (not required) to leave edit summaries so that people looking at the history of the page or in Special:Recentchanges can easily see what was changed. Yes, you can add images that are hosted elsewhere... just put the URL of where it lives such as http://www.--.jpg. I would recommend checking out our Image Help page to see all the things you can do if you upload an image here. Yes, and linking externally to another profile page you have is fine.
