Great to see you and glad its working! --User:Ray King | talk 05:23, 21 August 2006 (PDT)

Hi Angela, even though we are using MediaWiki software, we have a different understanding of User: and Article: namespaces that Wikimedia projects do - in fact we are moving from the User terminology to PersonalPage. Sorry for the confusion and you are welcome to revert. MarkDilley

How will you distinguish between articles about people and personal pages? Or will you just not have articles on people here? If you have both, do you have different policies on each. I'm slightly too ingrained in Wikipedia's way now which says that I'm the only person who can edit User:Angela and I'm the only person who can't edit Angela Beesley. Angela 11:29, 22 June 2007 (PDT)
Mind if I help answer this? It's a wiki after all ;) (General disclaimer: My wording may be awkward) Mark can fill in anything that I've missed. We don't generally have articles on people as, say, Wikipedia might. Generally, some of us don't like to follow the "User:" convention so our PersonalPages are in mainspace. It's not a hard-and-fast rule, as you can see from, for example, User:Tanwir Shah. In the instance of the UniversalWikiEditButton poll, the UWEB template used in the poll depended on users' pages being in mainspace. I hope this adequately answers your question, though I'll flag Mark about this just in case it doesn't. Best, Nathan (talk) / 04:35, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
