Cleaning up after his third hurricane in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Shark Divers Patric Douglas decided that there had to be a safer way to make a living. He moved back to the west coast where he was quickly offered a job working for a medical travel company escorting American doctors all over the globe. He spent the next two years as one of the first American tour guides back into Vietnam setting up a safe, unique travel route throughout this remarkable historically rich country. While escorting 21-day tours through China, Bali, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand and Latin America, his easygoing leadership and good humor made for some exciting moments on the road that would not have happened without him. Mountain slides in Peru, saltwater crocodiles blocking the road in Australia and even a Cyclone in New Zealand did not deter this imaginative expedition guide from offering the best available to his adventurous clients.
When not on the latest shark diving expedition or discovering new adventures, Patric can be found on blue ribbon streams-fly fishing California's many outstanding trout destinations. He can also be found competing in Skeet and Trap shooting events all over the Bay Area. Join him and his crew on for the dive experience of a lifetime and come face to face with your favourite big water shark this year. The only thing you have to lose is another amazing vacation!
As a typical Aussie - Luke Tipple - grew up in and around the ocean. His first contact was at 1 month old when his father threw him into the surf and he came up smiling; there's been no turning back since. Originally from Adelaide, South Australia, Luke has been a keen surfer and an avid spear fisherman from the age of four... in fact his first memory is being given a hand spear, which he still has to this day. His love of the ocean lead him down the obvious road to study Marine Biology and he graduated from James Cook University eager to enter the world of sharks.
Luke first started diving in Townsville on the Great Barrier Reef. Diving has since taken him on a journey around the world with assignments as a Dive Officer aboard a Mega-yacht in the Mediterranean, Trip Director aboard "Adrenalin" diving the world famous "S.S. Yongala" Shipwreck, and Technical diving deep shipwrecks and reefs on the coast of Florida and in the Red Sea. As a Marine biologist Luke worked in Utila, Honduras, heading up the Whale Shark Division of the Whale Shark and Oceanic Research Center. Luke is enthusiastic about the ocean and it’s wildlife and loves to talk about all things pelagic. He is a wealth of marine knowledge, great dive stories, and is looking forward to sharing them with you this year!
