- Who are we? We are people that have been friends for over eleven years now. Lorie (Balonis) Nijjar and Gary Mayers met in 1992 while attending U.S. Army flight training at Ft. Rucker, AL. We parted ways upon completion of flight school, but were reunited when we were assigned together in Korea. Lorie and I were in the same company, and I worked with her husband Monty on a daily basis. We all became close friends and spent nearly five years stationed together in Korea and at Ft. Irwin, CA. We are business partners that thought that the pageant industry could be expanded to allow for an "off day" or accommodate a busy schedule or even those that want to compete but financially found it difficult. We are attempting to take people from across the nation and link them together with our pageant and together at our annual awarding of The Final Crown. Pageant systems across the nation have groups that are friends and treat their award winners as family. We want to do the same. Lorie is now retired from the Army, and spends her time with her family in Alaska, while I'm stationed in Virginia and in the process of Retiring from the Army.
