So, what is SquadronExec.com?
SquadronExec.com is a resource for US Air Force personnel needs. This includes active duty members as well as guard, reserve, dependents, retired members, and those who are interested in the Air Force. It is a directory of useful sites frequently used and frequently visited by Air Force members.
I started the layout and scripting for this site in May 2002 when I was on leave enroute for a PCS (Permanent Change of Station). It went online four months later, in September 2002. PCSing to me is like "starting over" which includes getting a new email address and other new accounts. Well, unfortunately, this includes starting my bookmarks over because I either lost some of them or I forgot to save them before my old account was deleted. Or there have been times when I was deployed when I had wished I remembered the name of the site I thought I could use at the time. Know what I'm talking about?
That is why I came up with this idea of a "centralized directory for my Air Force needs" and decided to share it with others, because I'm sure someone else out there has been in the same predicament as I have. I decided to call it SquadronExec, because when I held the position for a year in 2001 (not my primary duty) I was the focal point for things like standard operating procedures (SOPs), regulations, unit information, morale, administration, performance reports, and the like. The goal of this site is to be that same type of focal point. A focal point created by Air Force members for Air Force members.
