- I’ve been obsessed with lists for a long time. I believe that great art has a salubrious effect on people because great art is about death. Some Buddhists believe (for all I know ALL Buddhists believe) that meditation on death is a way of increasing compassion in the world. Art works the same way. My beliefs have a slice of hope in them, as most beliefs.
