- The plan was to go to Genoa for the day, but France has a way of changing plans. We were on time for dropping off the car, but we *just* missed the train to Genoa. It was a good thing too, since it takes three hours each way. So we went to the beach instead. The water was beautiful and shining like a sapphire, and was cold at first, but you got used to it. After swimming, I decided to work on my tan. When the waiter came around, I attempted to order in French, even though he asked what I wanted in English. “Tres bien” he said and went off to fetch my Coke. Thus I won the French Game.
