- The first of the recent orders to arrive was my apron. My rugged, canvas, pierce-proof-yet-I-can-move-about-while-wearing-it shop apron. Not to be confused with the aprons that some other people choose to admire. While I was, I will admit, briefly enamored with a lovely burgandy number with a floral pattern, it was brief and quickly shoved out of my mind with similar “girly” notions that just don’t do well in my presence. No… when I went shopping for an apron, I wanted a Man Apron. The kind of thing I could use as an impromptu mat to change a tire on or whip out to protect me if birds start dropping out of the sky. The kind of apron I could make a tent out of or wrap one of my kids in to keep the wind off of them. You know… a Man Apron. All-purpose and durable. And with lots of Pockets. Men supposedly like pockets. I tend to agree. They’re great for keeping stuff in.
