Ian Applications is what I used to be, way before my PHP or even Linux days. These were the days that I hacked at Visual Basic 3.0 for Windows 3.1. Of course I eventually moved onto bigger and better things, such as Visual Basic 5.0 for example. Even though at first some of my programs were at best useless, with names like "The Super Duper Catalog" (I was in 5th grade, give me a break), they didn't amount to much. Of course after enough time I did develop some cool Windows programs like "Launcher 4", and the never quite finished "Media Show".
Now onto a much more important find: Linux. After learning what Linux was and why it is so great, it didn't take long until I picked up some Perl, SQL, and PHP. Of course if it was not for my job at PlanetCable, I would have never picked up SQL, even though it was in an NT environment.
The name raXnet actually was derived from my computer nickname "raX". Two years ago I was involved in a group project in my Cisco class that needed to make up a good company name. I guess raXnet was the best thing we came up with at the time. Don't believe me? Here is even an original logo to go along with the whole story:
