Manuel L. Quezon III: The Daily Dose

Description

About Me

I was born in May, 1970, which makes me a Dog (according to the Chinese calendar) and a Gemini for those of you who are interested in such things.

My father is the late Manuel L. Quezon Jr. (”Nonong”) and my mother is Lourdes Orense Casas (”Lulu”). My dad used to write for the Graphic Magazine before Martial Law. He also used to teach Philosophy of History and the History of Philosophy at the University of Santo Tomas (the Royal and Pontifical Catholic University of the Philippines). My mother used to teach music and is devoted to social work, including the volunteer organization of the Philippine National Red Cross and various women’s organizations, such as the National Federation of Women’s Clubs.

I am a writer, classified by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (for you Americans that’s the Philippine equivalent of the IRS) as a journalist. I mainly write for these publications: The Philippine Daily Inquirer Newspaper, The PHILIPPINES FREE PRESS Magazine, and The Arab News Newspaper. I am also a speechwriter on the side, a historian of sorts, and so on; I write for other publications from time to time. Besides writing, I am occasionally invited to address civic groups and other organizations and to guest on TV talk shows.
