Peter Wolf, president of PhotoCrazy® based in Thousand Oaks, California, has combined his love of athletics, photography and computers to create a fun and unique online service. PhotoCrazy® photographers take pictures of athletes in action--at such events as bicycling, ice or roller blade hockey, marathons and kids' organized sports. Pictures of participants are posted on PhotoCrazy's® web site (photocrazy.com) usually within 24 hours of the event day and are offered for sale as pictures, on ceramic mugs, mouse pads and plaques.

Wolf estimates he has taken between 10,000 and 15,000 digital photographs per month since establishing PhotoCrazy® in September 1999. An avid bicyclist, he now spends many of his weekends photographing bicycling events instead of participating in them (although he still finds time to bike ride each weekday at 6:00 a.m. with a group of riders called the "Wolf Pack").

Participants of a sporting event or other special occasion covered by PhotoCrazy® photographers can find their pictures online by selecting the event and the time when the photo was taken. Helpful online tools are provided to make the finding process easy (see an EXAMPLE here). During an event with a specified route, Wolf stands beside a giant clock with a sign telling entrants to "remember their time." He then snaps their picture with a digital camera that not only captures a high resolution image but also records electronically the date, hour, minute and second when the picture was taken as the entrant passes by. For other types of events, Wolf hands out business cards that are date and time stamped on the reverse side.
