Phil Yeh’s Silicon Valley career started in 1997 as a technical recruiter, with clients including Ciena Corp. (NASDAQ: CIEN) and venture capital firm InterWest Partners. In May 1999, he entered the frontlines of the dotcom frenzy and joined 8x8, Inc. (NASDAQ: EGHT). As part of a team of four, Phil worked to spin off an Internet-based business unit of the company.
From October 1999 to May 2004, Phil was with ZipZoomFly.com, where he went aboard as the online retailer's first dedicated employee and was initially tasked with helping build the company from the ground up. Later, through Phil's management of ZipZoomFly’s marketing effort, he helped drive the company's annual revenue to $150 million. In May 2004, Phil joined Ebates.com, a venture-backed Internet shopping portal. Since late 2004, he has been with Dealix Corporation (a division of The Cobalt Group), where he is currently the Director of Marketing.
On weekends, Phil promotes nightclub events in and around San Francisco as a partner in Element, LLC. He has consulted for small businesses on the side, including a dotcom backed by John McAfee, various Internet retailers, and a distilled spirits startup. From 2001 to 2003, Phil ran a talent management agency part-time whose roster ranged from Playboy Playmates to recording artists. In 2001 and 2002, Phil snowboarded competitively with the USA Snowboard Association in the Giant Slalom and Boadercross events.
