I have decided to write mainly about me on this "About" page because I am ultimately the one with whom you will deal if you are not satisfied with any product, service, or information on the OutFront family of sites. Your decision to do business with OutFront comes down to your trust that I am capable of helping you create successful Web projects and that I am dedicated to your satisfaction.
My Web development career began in 1996 when I was in graduate school seeking my Masters degree in Educational Technology at the University of South Carolina. I had a grad-assistant job during that time as the Webmaster for the USC College of Education. My job was to redesign, rebuild, and maintain the college's Web presence and to conduct personal tutoring sessions with all interested college faculty members to show them how to use Microsoft FrontPage to update their own Web sites.
Renaissance Interactive (now defunct) hired me in 1997. Renaissance was a large regional Web development company based in Columbia, South Carolina. At its height Renaissance had more than 100 employees and venture capital funding to the tune of $15 million. We developed sites for some quite large companies such as Wachovia Bank and Siemens. We also developed smaller sites for medium sized businesses. My job at Renaissance was to use a graphic designer's Photoshop files and a client's content to create a top quality Web site and then train 1 or more of the client's employees to edit and manage the site with Microsoft FrontPage. I did that for approximately 3 years.
