OmniGraffle is a Mac specific application from OmniGroup. Using basic diagrams that work the way people think, OmniGraffle documents thoughts and helps to communicate them to others. The software helps users diagram and chart out tasks, actitives and processes, with powerful diagramming and drawing tools that are also easy to use. As versatile as it is powerful, OmniGraffle can be used to produce pretty much anything that can be represented with circles, lines, boxes and other symbols -- be it flow charts, organizational diagrams, family trees, project process, or office layouts.
OmniGraffle is available in two different flavors, a standard version, powerful enough for most needs, and a robust "Professional" edition with advanced editing and document creation options.
Features
More than just a program that simply places lines and symbols where you ask, OmniGraffle helps users think about the process of creating great diagrams and charts. Features include:

OmniGraffle Professional builds upon the capabilities of the standard version with a few added options:
- Master canvases to allow common elements and styles to show up on different documents.
- Attachment of notes to elements that appear on mouseover. Can be used with links and imported/exported from OmniOutliner.
- Easy creation of tables
- Multiple page documents
- Multiple editing windows
- A mode to show diagrams in a presentation format
- Import and export to the popular Windows-based Visio software.
- Other improvements including combined shapes, documents scaling, favorites, and support for ColorSync.

Output
OmniGraffle outputs diagrams into another of popular formats for easy of use in graphics programs and on websites. Supported formats include: PDF, TIFF, PNG, JPEG, EPS, HTML image map, SVG, PICT vector, Photoshop and BMP bitmap documents, in addition to OmniGraffle's own .graffle format/extension.
Language Support
Both OmniGraffle and OmmniGraffle Pro are localized in 7 languages: Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish.

- I've been a longtime Visio user and not having Visio for the Mac really troubled me until I found OmniGraffle. The two programs have a lot in common (which is good because OmniGraffle really can replace Visio) but what's neat about OmniGraffle is that objects are inherently aligned to each other, vs. a grid.
