- NorCal Equine Rescue "NER" is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization. We are dedicated to preventing cruelty to equines of all kinds: horses, ponies, mules and donkeys. NER was founded in 2003 on the belief that if everyone does what he or she can, then much will be accomplished. So far over 200 equines have been saved and placed!
