Description
James R. Kilpatrick was diagnosed with Inclusion Body Myositis in August 1991, age 59, in Dallas, Texas. Because there is so little knowledge about his muscle disorder then even among physicians, he obtained all the Myositis information from the Internet then from Neurologists in his Support Group.
He was a certified Hospice volunteer for 13 years to AIDS patients. His education background includes five degrees from Universities in Ohio and Louisiana.
The Kilpatrick's make their home in Athens, Texas, SE of Dallas and have been married for 49 years. Their daughter, Connie and son-in-law Mike Oden have two teenage children in high school. The Kilpatrick's lost their only son in 1993.
